Extra Curricular ClubsAfter School Clubs for Academic Year 2008/09Social Skills ClubThis club uses the school facilities to provide after-school, social activities for younger children whilst also engaging ex-pupils who have left the school and moved on to further education, training or employment. The club aims to develop the social skills of all children and young people and is structured to provide peer-support opportunities and encourage collaborative and co-operative behaviour. Drama ClubThe club provides activities in drama using the school hall and stage facilities. All activities are aimed at encouraging communication and self expression through drama. Life-Skills and Communication After-School ClubThe life-skills and communication club involves children in cooking, baking, making sandwiches, making tea/coffee, sewing, threading, dressing, cleaning teeth, or any other activities that may be appropriate. This club enables children to practice skills while in a safe and structured environment, while working alongside their peers. Football ClubThe football club is open to all children at the school with an interest in playing football. Activities include practicing football skills and the club provides opportunities for keeping active, fit and healthy. Art ClubWe have a Tuesday after-school club and lunchtime arts clubs. We aim to include all pupils at the school in these activities throughout the year. The pupils will be offered a block of 4 to 6 sessions and rotated throughout the school. Bricklaying ClubThe bricklaying after-school club is open to year 10 and 11 pupils. It enables pupils to develop vocational, work-related skills in a safe and supported environment. |
