Corbets Tey School staff regularly host and deliver assessment and differentiation training for SENCOS in mainstream schools, providing ideas and guidance on delivering a curriculum that is appropriate for pupils working below National Curriculum Level 1 or working significantly below their peers.
Training can focus on various aspects of teaching and learning including differentiating whole class learning objectives and considering how to make them meaningful and relevant for pupils who are unable to access broader class learning objectives. Specific training on using online BSquared Assessment System has been provided to a number of schools.
The curriculum is a journey of enrichment for all pupils regardless of learning barriers and skills can be developed in ways that are adapted within a national curriculum led, age appropriate context.
iPad apps are often used as a tool to enhance cross curricular teaching and learning and also as a method for accessible communication using Proloquo2Go and PECS.
